Many sectors are currently talking about sustainable energy and its importance, but do we know exactly what it means?

What is the definition of sustainable energy?

Sustainable energy is energy that we can use without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

We therefore understand that it is an inexhaustible energy, that its source is infinite or that it is consumed at an insignificant rate.

We can say that renewable energies are an important factor in sustainability (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, wave or biomass).

In view of the importance of preserving our resources and taking care of the planet, a change towards these forms of energy generation is necessary.

When we talk about sustainable energy it is necessary to touch on the subject of energy efficiency, which we could define as the optimization of energy consumption to achieve certain levels of comfort and service, for example, adjusting electricity consumption to our real needs as users or implementing mechanisms to save energy and avoid losses.

When we have a good level of energy efficiency, we increase our chances of having sufficient supply for all users.
